2025-26 Kohlmeier Mikulencak Scholarship Recipients

The 2025 scholarship is awarded to Ellie Little and Sam Crandell. They show resilience, compassion, and care in advocating for others, taking personal risks that make them vulnerable in the process of building more just and equitable communities. Through the creation of dialogue between groups, they are affecting positive change, and we applaud their unwavering commitment to advocating for POC and Queer communities. Ellie and Sam: Congratulations on finding your voices as you become compassionate leaders for structural change!

Ellie Little

I am a second-year student pursuing a degree in Political Science with an Honors minor at Western Washington University. I plan to attend law school in the future, with the goal of becoming a defense attorney. My studies have also inspired me to pursue opportunities in politics, where I hope to advocate for democracy and equity. In my free time, I study Holocaust history to deepen my understanding of political systems. Outside of academics, I am a ballet dancer, and I currently teach at The Dance Studio. I am deeply honored to receive the Kohlmeier Mikulencak Scholarship in honor of Arthur Poznanski, and I hope to carry on his legacy by dedicating myself to equity.
